One of the most common questions I receive from clients is:
What should we wear for our photoshoot?
While I don’t offer a client wardrobe, I truly believe in the authenticity of each person I photograph. My goal is to tell your story while staying fully loyal to who you are. That means your outfit should reflect you—your personality, your style, and your comfort.
1. Dressing with Confidence & Comfort
I know that, especially for pregnant women, choosing what to wear can sometimes be challenging. Our bodies change, and we may not have many clothes that fit the way we’d like. But don’t worry—I’m here to help you through this process, and honestly, I love this part! Your comfort is key because when you feel good, it shows in the photos.
2. Color Choices: Embracing Your Style
I personally love earth tones because they complement almost any background and create a warm, timeless feel. But I don’t want to limit our choices! If your vibe is all about bright, bold colors—let’s embrace them. The most important thing is that you feel like yourself.
That being said, certain colors work better together, and I’ll share some examples to help you avoid the overwhelm of color theory. But if coordinating colors feels like too much work in your busy life, you can never go wrong with classic neutrals. In that case, we can play with textures to add depth and a sensory feel to your images.
Key Styling Tips
- Dress for the occasion, location, and weather. If we’re shooting at the beach, casual, effortless outfits and barefoot moments feel natural. If it’s a city session, structured outfits may work better.
- Avoid overly busy prints and logos. They can be distracting and take the focus away from you.
- Choose simplicity over a big production. My work is about capturing real moments, so your outfits should reflect that.
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement. My sessions involve a lot of movement, so it’s best to avoid restrictive or hazardous outfits.
- Layer and accessorize mindfully. Simple layers (like a cardigan or scarf) can add dimension without overpowering the look.
- Patterns like chevron and stripes are cool!!! – They add texture and interest to photos without being overwhelming.
